The Cardiology Fellowship at Ingham Medical Center is under the sponsorship of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. The trainers are all members of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute, and the training director is Michael J. James, DO, FACC The great majority of the fellowship training program will be at Ingham Medical Center under the supervision of the physicians of the Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute. Outside rotations will be approved on an as needed basis.
The Fellowship is both non-invasive and interventional in scope. The first year of fellowship will be generic and consist of six months of clinical service, three months in the cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, and three months in a supervised reading program and non-invasive laboratory. At the end of the first year the Fellow and Director will decide on a non-invasive versus an interventional track for the second and third years.
