John H. Ip, M.D., FACC specializes in cardiac electrophysiology. He is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology. He graduated from the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine and did his internship and residency in internal medicine at Bellevue Hospital in New York. He completed his training at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York with two fellowships: cardiology and electrophysiology. He is an Associate Clinical Professor at Michigan State University. He was awarded honors in Clinical Pathophysiology and Fentress Research Scholar awards at the Pritzker School of Medicine. He is also a recipient of the Master Teacher Award sponsored by Cardiovascular Reviews and Reports and the Wyeth-Ayerst Electrophysiology Fellowship Award.
Dr. Ip is a member of American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and is the Medical Director of Electrophysiology at Ingham Regional Medical Center. Dr. Ip has published and co-authored many articles and presented abstracts for The Journal of Pacing and Clinical Electophysiology (PACE), The Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC), Cardiovascular Reviews and Reports, Biomed Pharmacology Therapy, Primary Cardiology, Current Opinions in Cardiology, Coronary Artery Disease, American Heart Journal (AHJ), Journal of Thoracic Surgery, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, Heart Rhythm Society, and CardioRhythm.
Dr. Ip is the designer and national principal investigator for Biotronik's Impact Study and is conducting a single center study on the use of loop recorders to determine the success of surgical atrial fibrillation ablation. He is also a principal investigator in multiple national and international clinical trials on pacemakers, defibrillators & arrhythmia drugs.
